Nicaragua - History and Demographics

Nicaragua is the largest country in the Central American isthmus, bordered by Honduras to the northwest, the Caribbean to the east, Costa Rica to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. It is slightly larger than England. Nicaragua has three distinct geographical regions: the fertile valleys of the Pacific lowlands, the North-central highlands, and the Mosquito Coast or Atlantic lowlands.
