Cristie was born to a family of farmers in Pasig City. She graduated with a Biology degree from the University of the Philippines and a medical degree from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in 1985. She started volunteering for Bountiful Children’s Foundation in 2014, but her involvement in health and community development started in her college years.

Anna Liza began her journey with Bountiful Children’s Foundation Philippines in May 2016 as a passionate volunteer. Starting as a community coordinator, she worked closely with mothers and children, providing vital nutritional support and health education. This hands-on experience nurtured her deep love for service and strengthened her commitment to helping children grow healthy, smart, and strong.

Known as a go-to person for her dedication to serving and ministering to others, Anna Liza always pushes herself to the limit. Every month, she personally purchases, packs, and distributes supplements, teaches health lessons to mothers and caregivers, and ensures health screenings are conducted every six months.

Although she had to step away from her role as a community coordinator due to her medical condition, Anna Liza remains deeply involved with the foundation, finding meaningful ways to help. She is inspired by Mother Teresa's words: "Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love." With this belief at heart, Anna Liza continues to uplift the lives of children and families with unwavering dedication and compassion.

Babette hails from Taytay, Rizal, a booming town on the outskirts of Metro Manila. She and her late husband have three children and one grandson. Babette is a Certified Public Accountant and has a degree in Business Administration.

She serves as the country accountant for BCF in the Philippines, and, in addition to monitoring the finances, she also trains the coordinators on how to make uniform monthly financial reports. She loves being involved with BCF, and feels it has taught her to develop more love for the many children in need.

Cherryl is a dedicated humanitarian and healthcare professional, who calls Sipalay, Negros Occidental her hometown, where she was born on August 9, 1985. Married to Reggie Nepunan, Cherryl has exemplified a life of service and leadership.

Since 2015, Cherryl has volunteered with unwavering commitment at BCF, where she currently serves as a Board Member. Her passion for helping others extends into her professional roles as well. Since July 2019, she has served as an LGU Midwife and Emergency Response Conductress, playing a critical role in community health and emergency services.

She is an active member of the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines, equipped with certifications in Basic Life Support for health providers and Standard First Aid. Beyond her professional and volunteer commitments, she finds solace and expression in music, adept at playing the piano and singing.

She embodies a life dedicated to service, community, and the betterment of those around her, making a profound impact through both her professional healthcare contributions and her volunteerism.

Rhyza is a Registered Nurse and a dedicated professional, married to Vendio, with two beautiful children. Previously, she worked as the Head of the University Infirmary at Lyceum Northwestern University in Dagupan City. She volunteered as a coordinator for Bountiful Children's Foundation and is currently a board member. She expressed, “I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father for giving me this opportunity to be a part of this wonderful organization, and I consider my coordinatorship not just a mere volunteer responsibility but a sacred calling.”

Len B. Novilla Education MPH, University of Utah, 1999 M.D., University of the City of Manila, 1990 B.S. Public Health, University of the Philippines, Institute of Public Health, 1986 Background Beneath her smiles and quiet ways was a life of struggle. Len, the fifth in a brood of seven, grew up in a rough and impoverished setting in Tondo, Manila, Philippines where education was a luxury not a right. Such condition was made even more difficult by the passing of her father when she was only six years of age. Even at that time, her mother had instilled in her and in her siblings the power of education —-the power to inspire and enlighten minds and to change lives. Having experienced such transformation in her life, Len values teaching —believing that one’s teaching is only as powerful as the life that lives it. On this she gives thanks to the mentors she has in life whose examples of kindness, faith, humility, service, and perseverance are lessons for her to master. Len joined BYU in 2003 as an Associate Professor at the Department of Health Science. She teaches Chronic Disease Prevention and Control at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. She has also taught the Maternal and Child Health Issues and Grant Writing in the MPH Program and directed the Philippines International Internship Program for the BYU Kennedy Center. Her research interests include the role of the family in health with particular emphasis on engaging the family as the sustaining framework for health promotion and disease prevention strategies; defining the role of the family in addressing health inequities; and defining the link between the family and health systems, focusing on system assessment and strengthening within the context of the social determinants of health. Together with a group of faculty and student researchers, their study entitled, “How Can We Get the Social Determinants of Health Message on the Public Policy and Public Health Agenda? Translating Data into a Social Determinants of Health Information Tool to Inform Policy and Public Health Programs” was selected by the World Health Organization as one of the 28 case studies from around the globe intended to highlight country experiences on implementing action on the social determinants of health. These case studies are featured in the World Health Organization’s website which is accessible globally as part of the World Conference on Social Determinants of Health, held last October 19-21 2011, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Len is an elected member of the Alpha Theta Chapter of the Delta Omega National Honorary Society in Public Health.

She currently serves in various boards and committees such as the Board of Trustees at Timpanogos Regional Hospital, Executive Committee of the Thrasher Research Fund, Utah Department of Health (UDOH) Health Disparities Advisory Council, and the Utah Public Health Association (UPHA) Policy Committee. She is a member of the American Public Health Association (APHA)-International Health Section and the Society of Public Health Educators (SOPHE). Prior to joining BYU, Len was a Senior Research Manager for the Thrasher Research Fund, managing several international and U.S.-based pediatric research grants. As a mom, Len enjoys reading to her two children. Together with her husband Nathan, they love spending time with their children, nephews, and nieces by reading books out loud, going on family trips, gardening, and making crafts.

Hanna Libre is a Registered Social Worker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos. She currently serves as a Social Worker for Bountiful Children’s Foundation - Philippines, where she supervises volunteer coordinators and leads programs aimed at reducing child malnutrition and promoting family self-reliance.

With a background in Community Development and Social Welfare, Hanna is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families across the Philippines. Additionally, she spent 18 months as a full-time church volunteer, where she focused on teaching and sharing values related to personal and spiritual development. During this time, she trained others and took on leadership roles that enhanced her organizational and leadership skills. This experience further strengthened her abilities in communication, team management, and community outreach.

As a mom who has breastfed in the past, Hanna is enthusiastic about connecting with other parents to share experiences and support initiatives related to child health and well-being. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with her toddler, engaging in activities such as nature walks, reading books before bedtime, and making food together.

Hanna's Vision for the Future:

Hanna’s vision is to contribute to reducing child malnutrition in the Philippines through practical and targeted initiatives. She aims to strengthen BCF-P’s programs by focusing on enhanced nutritional support and community based activities. By collaborating closely with local leaders, volunteers, and families, Hanna seeks to create impactful and sustainable improvements in child health. Her goal is to support families in building a foundation for a better future, leveraging small, manageable steps to drive positive and lasting change in the communities she serves.
