As we settle into 2025, we look back with gratitude on the meaningful Christmas celebrations that brought joy and hope to our program areas last month. These gatherings were more than just festive events—they were a testament to the power of community, generosity, and shared purpose. From the laughter of children to the dedication of volunteers and donors, this holiday season left a lasting impact on everyone involved.

Community Togetherness

One of the most inspiring aspects of this year’s Christmas events was how they brought people closer together. Families, volunteers, and local leaders all contributed their time and energy to make these celebrations truly special. From shared meals to joyful games and heartfelt performances, these gatherings strengthened bonds within communities and created lasting memories.

In Malasiqui, Pangasinan, everyone came together to enjoy the Christmas party and distribution. Even families who had already graduated from the program joined the simple yet meaningful celebration. Laughter filled the air as recipients and parents bonded over games, shared meals, and exchanged simple gifts, showcasing the sense of unity and community the season brings.

Meanwhile, in Matnog and Irosin, Sorsogon, the stable weather allowed our community coordinator and volunteers to visit recipients despite the long distance. The children’s joy upon receiving their gifts and supplements was evident, and their gratitude was heartfelt. As May Anne Gabelo, the community coordinator for the area, remarked: “They wanted me to share and say how grateful they are for this program and for the sponsors who keep sending them love and care. Despite the long distance, they felt special and loved.”

Gratitude and Giving

This year, we were deeply touched by the generosity of donors who contributed in various ways—even without requests for assistance. Some areas received financial contributions, while others were blessed with in-kind donations. For instance:

  • In Montalban, Rizal, a local pharmacy provided thoughtful in-kind donations to brighten the celebration.

  • Caloocan City benefitted from generous in-kind contributions from a local business, adding a festive touch to their event.

  • Himamaylan, Negros Occidental, received books from a kindhearted couple, sparking excitement and inspiration among children.
  • Rapu-Rapu and Leganes also received generous donations that made a lasting impact on their celebrations, spreading cheer in their respective communities.

These gifts and contributions remind us of the power of giving, no matter the form it takes. Each donation made a meaningful impact, spreading joy to families and children alike.

Memorable Moments from Our Communities

Each community created its own unique celebration, leaving behind special memories. In Himamaylan, Negros Occidental, the highlight of the party was an appearance by the beloved Jollibee mascot. For many children, this was their first time meeting Jollibee in person, and their excitement was unmatched. Watching their faces light up with joy as they posed for pictures with the mascot was a moment that left everyone moved.

In Leganes, Iloilo, the celebration included a talent showcase featuring storytelling, singing, and violin performances. These inspiring acts encouraged children and parents alike to embrace their creativity and nurture their passions.

Personal Reflections

For me, these events were a heartfelt reminder of why we do what we do. Watching children laugh, seeing parents connect with one another, and feeling the genuine camaraderie among volunteers was nothing short of inspiring. The extra effort made by our coordinators to ensure that even those unable to attend in person received their gifts showcased the thoughtfulness and dedication of our teams.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we welcome 2025, I’m filled with hope and excitement for the year ahead. The lessons learned and the connections made during these Christmas parties will guide us as we continue our mission of supporting families and reducing child malnutrition.

How You Can Help

These events remind us that even small acts of kindness can have a big impact. If you’d like to be part of this mission, there are many ways you can help. Donations—whether financial or in-kind—are always appreciated and go a long way in supporting our programs and communities.

We’re also always looking for passionate volunteers who can share their time, skills, or resources to make a difference. Whether it’s helping to organize events, teaching health lessons, or simply spreading awareness, your contribution matters.
