I began my volunteer service with Bountiful Children's Foundation in March of 2008. I love to serve, and it brings me great joy to do so - especially seeing mothers receive the assistance they've waited for for so long.

It is truly impressive to witness how the children recover, step by step, thanks to the nutritional aid they receive month after month. Bountiful is a magnificent organization, and it is a blessing to be a part of it. It has taught me how to serve and how to love. I am very happy sharing my time with these impoverished mothers and children.

I am so very grateful to our donors who makes this great work possible—to those noble hearts who share not merely their surplus, but whatever they are able to give. Every contribution is warmly received.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in development projects, and I have been part of the Bountiful Children's Foundation since January 2023. I currently serve as a Supervising Social Worker, guiding the work of community teams and supporting initiatives focused on improving the nutrition, health, and well-being of families.

What I enjoy most about my work is the opportunity to learn from communities and walk alongside them in the search for solutions that contribute to a better quality of life for children and their families. I believe that the most significant changes occur when people are heard, valued, and actively participate in shaping their own development.

I am passionate about community work and the impact that can be generated through education, guidance, and capacity building. I feel grateful to be part of an organization committed to providing opportunities for more children to grow up healthy and reach their full potential.

Community-Led Care: Meet the Coordinators

Our charity is committed to fighting child malnutrition through the dedication of trained local volunteers. In Guatemala, our program operates in 13 communities, where each one is led by a local volunteer coordinator. These coordinators monitor children’s growth, distribute nutritional supplements, and provide vital health support.

Since 2024, all volunteer coordinators have taken full responsibility for the daily operations of our program—ensuring lasting, community-driven change.

Escuintla Coordinator

My name is Alma Elena Echeverría Cano.

I have been part of this wonderful service effort for 10 years.

I am from Escuintla.

I love being able to serve others and I do it with great care. I try to help my children by seeking support from other institutions or from friends who trust in my work and in what the Association does for the children of our country.

During these 10 years I have had many experiences that have marked my life and make me feel that what I am doing is worthwhile, especially seeing how boys and girls recover and achieve better health.

Being part of the mothers’ pregnancy and breastfeeding process, and knowing that they will provide better nutrition to their babies because they have a sustaining, healthy porridge, which helps their babies be born healthier.

Being a Bountiful volunteer has been a blessing in my life and has given me the opportunity to serve others.

My name is Amalia Victoria Gramajo Salazar.

I am 47 years old, and I started working with Bountiful on February 10, 2017.

With much affection, I can say that I have been with Bountiful Children for 8 years.

I live in Ciudad Tecún Umán, Ayutla, San Marcos, Guatemala.

My time with Bountiful has given me the opportunity to serve and help. When I see young pregnant girls, my heart aches, but through Bountiful I have the opportunity to help them, even just a little, to make the burden they carry on their shoulders a bit lighter.

I hope to continue in Bountiful for as long as I am allowed.

My name is Amelia Rebeca Fuentes Pérez.

I have been with the foundation for 8 years.

I am from San Andrés Chapil, San Pedro Sacatepéquez, San Marcos.

I am infinitely grateful first to God for my health and second for being part of the foundation.

These years have helped me a lot. I have met many little children who have shared their joy, tenderness, and patience with me.

Every month I am happy to travel and see each child’s joy, and the mothers’ satisfaction as their children regain weight.

Being able to help is deeply rewarding; nothing compares to seeing so many smiles and healthier children with lower chances of illness thanks to the good vitamins in Incaparina.

Thank you all for sharing and giving the best of ourselves to these little angels who are the future of a better world.

My name is Dayalma Gonzáles. I live in Malacatán, San Marcos. I started with the Bountiful Children's Foundation in June of 2021. It has been a great experience working with Bountiful; it has allowed me to get closer to my community and see firsthand the need for food and other necessities. I have seen that the supplement Incaparina they receive each month is an opportunity for every child to survive. Therefore, I hope every donor can feel that through their donation they are giving life to children in a country with a high rate of malnutrition and are helping to improve their quality of life.

My name is Juliana Sanic Olcot.

I live in Patzicía, in the department of Chimaltenango, Guatemala City.

I love serving and coordinating to help others, and I feel excited when I see how happy the children and the mothers are that are helped by this program.

During the implementation of the program, you identify children with special needs who can be helped with nutritional supplements provided by the Foundation. As well, training is given to mothers by the health staff so that they can be more involved and interested in helping their children move forward with their needs.

We've succeeded in integrating health personnel into local communities to support children’s recovery by giving them the necessary and timely care — all thanks to this great work of love that Bountiful provides every month.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who is a part of this transformation and change through Bountiful.
