About Calape
Recipients: Barangays San Vicente and Poblacion in the town of Sagbayan
Barangay Sandingan in the town of Loon , Barangay Liboron in Calape, Sitio Luyo in Inabanga, Barangay Tan-awan in Tubigon
These are Farming communities raising rice, corn, and root crops. Recipient families work as carpenters, housekeeper, teachers, saleslady. Most of them are high school graduates, some reached college level and a few are college graduates. Homes are semi-concrete, and many have dirt floors and light materials. Some areas are flood-prone, others reside in high hills and some are informal settlers.
Abegail D. Baguio
Calape Community Coordinator
Abby, a teacher by profession, was born on September 10, 1976, on one of the loveliest islands in the Visayas, where the famous tarsier and Chocolate Hills are located. Married to Allan Baguio, she is a devoted mother to their four sons.
Since 2015, Abby has been volunteering for the foundation, balancing her demanding teaching schedule with ensuring the delivery of supplements and teaching health lessons in her area. She finds deep satisfaction in witnessing the health improvements of her recipients.
Bountiful’s Community Coordinators
Community coordinators serve with Bountiful as volunteers. They organize other local volunteers and together conduct screenings, train families, distribute locally-purchased nutritional supplements, and follow up on infant development.
