About Himamaylan

Recipients: Brgys 6, Hilamonan, Oringao, and Tapi in Kabankalan. Barangays Suay and Brgy Caradioan in Himamaylan.

Mostly Sugarcane plantation communities. The main source of income/jobs are sugarcane field workers (karga – tapas), others are rice field workers and there are also 4ps recipients. Most of them did not finish primary and secondary education. Houses are usually made of light material and dirt floors. Tapi and Oringao are on the outskirts of Kabankalan City. Brgy 6 recipients are considered informal settlers. Brgy Suay is situated near a coastal area and the main source of income is fishing. Remote areas far from health and commercial facilities. Brgy Caradioan is situated uphill outside Himamaylan City.

Himamaylan Community Coordinator

Maremy is from Kabankalan, Negros Occidental. She is a graduate of B.S. Medical Technology. She is a mother of 5 boys. She is active in various civic projects.

She has been working as a volunteer at BCF since 2014. She said, “I can say that my substantial way in childrearing really been a great factor for me to fully assist these valuable children in this foundation.”

Bountiful’s Community Coordinators

Community coordinators serve with Bountiful as volunteers. They organize other local volunteers and together conduct screenings, train families, distribute locally-purchased nutritional supplements, and follow up on infant development.
