BCF-P Brief History and Background
In November 2013, the Bountiful Children’s Foundation USA (formerly Liahona Children’s Foundation) visited the central Philippines to screen children for malnutrition in five areas on Bohol and Cebu islands, which had just been devastated by an earthquake and Typhoon Yolanda.
What initially started as an outreach program to these disaster-stricken areas developed into an ongoing program. Since then, BCF has expanded to 41 programs spread across the provinces of Pangasinan, Rizal, Negros Occidental, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Cebu, and Bohol.

How You Can Help
We need your help to reach more children in need.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Make it a Family Affair
Get the whole family excited about giving to nutrition!
Travel in the Philippines
Visit our programs, meet the children we serve, and see new places.
Help a Child
Give $10 a month to support a child for one year.
Our Approach
We provide nutritional supplements to children using local coordinators and local nutritional supplements, focusing on the first 1,000 days of life.
Once a child has been screened and identified as undernourished according to World Health Organization growth charts, they are enrolled in our program. Our health lessons promote exclusive breastfeeding until 6 months, and all pregnant and lactating mothers are enrolled in the program and given nutritional supplements. In addition to teaching lessons on nutrition and health, local coordinators educate families on child cognitive development. In areas where needed, we also provide semi-annual de-worming of children.
This Includes:
Micronutrient and calorie
dense supplements
Growth monitoring
every 6 months
Educating families on hygienic,
healthy food preparation
and meal planning
