Our spotlight is on the country of Bolivia. Bountiful began screening children for malnutrition in Bolivia in 2014. We are currently helping eight communities (one that has been adopted) and over 350 children. Bolivia has some of the highest malnutrition rates in South America. Abdias is 2 years old and one of the children in the program in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The family is in a precarious situation with unsteady employment. His dad drives a taxi and his mom, Ana, sells fruit on the side of the road. Abdias is pictured on the sidewalk playing while his Mom works. He is the youngest of 5 children and they rent a room in the bottom of the building pictured.

An example note sent by a Bolivian mother reads, “I want to thank you for the support you have given with food for the good development and growth of my daughter Minnie. Thank you for the great work you do for the good of children. Sincerely, Eulalia.”
